The world economy is expected to rebound in 2022 and 2023, following a sharp slowdown in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. According to the International Monetary Fund (IMF), global GDP is projected to grow by 5.4% and 4.4% in 2022 and 2023, respectively. 

The United States is projected to be the fastest-growing major economy, with growth of 4.5% in 2022 and 3.5% in 2023. China is projected to grow by 8.4% and 5.8% in 2022 and 2023, respectively.

'According to World Bank, the world economy is expected to grow by 3.5% in 2022. The United States, China, and India are projected to remain the largest economies in the world, with their rankings unchanged from 2017. 

The United Kingdom is projected to move up one spot to 4th while Germany is projected to hold on to 5th place. Rounding out the top 10 are Japan, France, Italy, and Brazil.

The world economy is expected to rebound strongly in 2022 after the pandemic-induced slowdown of 2020 and 2021, with global GDP growth projected to reach 5.8 percent. The United States is projected to lead the economic pack, with growth of 4.7 percent. 

Among the world's largest economies, China is expected to grow at a slightly faster pace than the United States, at 5.5 percent. India and Japan are forecast to grow at a robust pace of 7.8 percent and 3.1 percent respectively in 2022.

According to the World Economic Forum, in 2022 the United States will be dethroned by China as the world's largest economy. This is based on their current growth rates; however, if the present administrations' policies continue, the U.S. could regain the top spot by 2026. 

India is projected to be in third place, followed by Japan and then Germany. These rankings are based on purchasing power parity which measures the relative purchasing power of a currency.

The International Monetary Fund has released its world economy ranking for 2022. The United States is still in the lead, followed by China, Japan, and Germany. The United Kingdom and France round out the top six. India, Brazil, and Russia are in the top ten.
